Manager, Data Analytics

(AHP) is looking for a Manager, Data Analytics to join our Data Analytics team which helps address crucial issues in public and behavioral health. The Manager, Data Analytics reports directly to the Senior Manager of Data and Analytics within the Administrative Services Division (ASE) at AHP.

AHP influences change in health and business systems to support at-risk and marginalized populations—from creating policy to engaging in ground-level, hands-on work. Our areas of expertise include behavioral health, mental health policy and services, substance use disorders, workforce development, homelessness, housing and employment programs, trauma-informed care, criminal justice, women and children, veterans, healthcare reform, and population health management.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manager, Data Analytics to oversee our data management processes and ensure the accuracy, integrity, and security of our data assets. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data management, analytics, and data governance, with a proven track record of managing data teams and implementing data strategies.

The Manager, Data Analytics is a seasoned professional with a deep understanding of Business Analysis and Analytics. By leveraging extensive experience and specialized skills, they drive advanced analytical projects that propel the organization toward its goals

As a Manager, Data Analytics, you'll be at the forefront of combining the strengths of Business Analysis and Analytics. Your in-depth knowledge ensures every project is both strategically aligned and data-driven, solidifying our commitment to operational excellence.

Responsibilities (70-80%):

  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of data professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance and professional growth.
  • Data Strategy: Define and execute the data strategy in alignment with business objectives, ensuring data is leveraged effectively to drive decision-making.
  • Designing Data Systems: Creating blueprints for data management systems that align with business and technology requirements.
  • Data Quality: Monitor and Improve data quality implement and enforce data quality standards and procedures to ensure data accuracy, consistency and reliability. Identifying and resolving issues promptly.
  • Assessment: Assessing business needs and meeting with key stakeholders including project leadership to ensure understanding of existing systems and project needs.
  • Ensuring Data Security: Implementing measures to protect data integrity, confidentiality, and availability.
  • Data Integration: Manage data integration processes to ensure seamless data flow between various systems and applications.
  • Reporting and Analytics: Develop and maintain data reporting and analytics capabilities to support business needs.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and industry standards.
  • Collaboration: Collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand needs and provide data drive insights. Devise and implement data strategies, build models, and assess business needs.

Management Responsibilities (20-30%):

  • Supervision: Providing leadership to a data team. This includes providing mentorship, guidance and ensuring that the team is meeting goals and deadlines. Addressing personnel issues.
  • Project Management: Oversee data related projects from inception to completion. Planning, executing, and monitoring project progress as well as evaluating resources.
  • Policy Development: Establishing data governance policies and standards to ensure data quality, security and compliance.
  • Strategic Planning: Developing long term data strategies that support the organizations goals. Including identifying opportunities for data driven improvements and innovations.
  • Vendor Management: Managing relationships with external vendors and service providers.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Acting as a liaison between the team and internal and external stakeholders. Communicating complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders ensuring alignment with business objectives.

Skills Required:

  • Technical Proficiency: Knowledge of database management, data modeling, and data warehousing.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze complex data systems and identify areas for improvement.
  • Communication: Strong communication skills to collaborate with various stakeholders and translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Problem-Solving: Aptitude for troubleshooting and resolving data-related issue
  • Certifications: Certifications like Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) or specific database certifications can be beneficial

Education and Experience:

  • A minimum of 7 years in data management, database administration or similar role.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, data science or related field. Master’s degree preferred
  • Proven experience as a data manager or in a similar role. Prior leadership experience is preferred.
  • CDMP or certification in data analysis, business analysis, or a related field is preferred
  • Demonstrated experience in an analytical role, with a track record of leading complex projects.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and management tools and software (Excel, Smartsheet, Power Bi, Power Suite, Redshift, Alchemer, Atlan, SMA, Freshworks, Ironclad).
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
  • An analytical mindset coupled with a strategic vision.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a proven ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of data protection regulations
  • Experience with regulations and grants management is strongly preferred.

Salary Range: $91,000- $120,000

To be transparent with applicants about salary and in compliance with various state pay disclosure requirements, AHP publishes the following information which is current as of the date of posting. The base salary range above represents the low and high end of the AHP salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be high or low in the range based on a range of factors including but not limited to location, experience, and education. The range listed is just one component of AHP’s total compensation package for employees.
