DevOps Engineer

We help organizations and individuals reach their full potential through professional consulting; research, evaluation, and data analytics; technical assistance and training; and virtual solutions, publications, and events.

Our areas of expertise include behavioral health, mental health policy and services, substance use disorders, workforce development, homelessness, housing and employment programs, trauma-informed care, criminal justice, women and children, veterans, health care reform, and population health management.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Deliver solutions in an Agile methodology with quick turn-around times, high availability, and low defect counts
  • Implementing and managing cloud policies, access controls, and security configurations
  • Create, review, modify, and update CloudFormation scripts for the following types of resources:
    • Infrastructure Devices such as Elastic Load Balancers, Routers, Servers, and Firewalls
    • Operating System configurations and patching including various flavors of Windows and Linux
  • Experience with AWS Systems Manager and EC2 Image Builder
  • Work with AHP's Cloud Architects to ensure all components of the AWS architecture can be automated and scripted. Includes authoring
    • Infrastructure Scripts
    • Operating System Scripts
    • Application Deployment and Configuration Scripts
  • Managing files and permissions in AWS S3
  • Support WordPress installation and configuration in AWS Lightsail
  • Resolve configuration issues raised in a web security scan
  • Assist the AHP Security resources in the implementation of HIPAA, FISMA and StateRAMP controls
  • Implement tools to monitor the environment

Preferred Skills / Prerequisites

  • Possess experience in supporting cloud platforms, communications, and server environment in AWS
  • Knowledgeable of cloud architectures, networking, system administration, architectures and security elements, virtualization technologies, encryption, and servers
  • Possess at least one AWS Certification (Solution Architect, Data Engineer, SysOps or Developer)
  • Be able to identify, understand, articulate, and manage technology decisions across technical disciplines - Be able to prioritize/ handle multiple tasks and projects effectively -
  • Familiarity with regulatory and legal requirements (i.e., FISMA, SOX, HIPAA requirements)
  • Experience building and deploying serverless application in the AWS environment
  • Work with public sector or security sensitive clients a plus
  • Version control repositories like Bitbucket
  • Task management in software development tools like Jira and Confluence
  • Strong communication skills, particularly in translating perceived needs into technical requirements
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently in a fast paced, deadline driven environment

Minimum Qualifications

  • BA/BS with (3-5) years of experience OR the equivalent combination of education and experience

Salary Range: $90,000 - $105,000

AHP, in an effort to be transparent with applicants about salary and in compliance with various state pay disclosure requirements, publishes the following information which is current as of the date of posting. The base salary range above represents the low and high end of the AHP salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be high or low in the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and education. The range listed is just one component of AHP’s total compensation package for employees.
